Learn about the Outreach Committee
What We Do
The Outreach Committee organizes a Democratic presence at public events and connects potential volunteers to other committees, campaigns and caucuses. We strive to provide an approachable space to discuss issues and express concerns at every fair, parade, and gathering. We provide basic information at these events on where and how to volunteer, what issues are currently working their way through the election or legislative process, and where to obtain more information. We seek to take the anxiety and hope that voters feel and transform it into something productive and rewarding.
Who We Are
As Outreach volunteers, we embody the fun-having, hardworking, and helpful spirit of the Democratic Party. We are often the first WashCo Dems volunteers that new or interested voters meet, so we try to be good listeners and a source of information. We also seek to work with the members of other committees to understand their goals and what types of volunteers they’re looking for. We are outgoing and always looking to help people inside and outside of the organization.
What We Look For
We’re looking for people who like to participate in fun events and meet people that both agree and disagree with their political beliefs. If you have interest or experience planning for, setting up or leading events, we have a project for you! If you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone, we can help ease you into working on fun events.
Most importantly, if you want to get involved and don’t know how to get started, we can help guide you.
