Welcome, newly elected PCPs!

Welcome to the Democratic Party of Washington County!  Our mission is to elect Democrats to serve in all levels of government—local, state, and federal.  Over the past few years, we’ve had great success turning our County blue. We’re not sitting on our laurels. We will continue our work until the County is blue from one end to the other, and we are so glad you’ve chosen to join us!

There are many ways that you can help us reach this goal.  You’ve already taken the first step, becoming a PCP. If you’re not completely sure what you signed up for in becoming a PCP, you can read through the description of a PCP here.  We also have some fantastic training classes to help you better understand how the Party works and how we conduct business using Robert’s Rules of Order. After becoming a PCP, the next step that many of our members choose to take is joining the Neighborhood Leader Program.  Neighborhood Leaders meet and engage with Democrats in their own neighborhoods, providing information on candidates and ballot measures so that voters can make informed decisions at election time.  In May 2018, our Neighborhood Leaders drove a 27 point bump in Democratic voter turnout in the areas they canvassed. We hope you’ll help us drive voter turnout for your own neighborhood!

Many of our members also donate their time to the work of one of our many committees, such as Communications, Platform & Resolutions, and Outreach.  Our Office Open House, from 10-2 on the second Saturday of each month, is a great place to talk to committee Chairs about where your skills are needed.

Finally, becoming a donor to the Blue Horizon Fund is great way to support the Party in place of—or in addition to—donating your time.  Raising the money we need to accomplish our goal of electing Democrats is a challenge that never ends. We hope you will consider making a one-time or recurring donation to help maintain our office as a critical resource to our Party and to local Democratic candidates.
