Who We Are

The Direct Action Workgroup is the activism group for the Washington County Democrats. This group formed to stand up to the creeping authoritarianism of the DJT Administration as our constitutional rights are being dismantled and our democracy is being undermined. We want to foster and strengthen our community in this time of uncertainty. We believe there is strength in numbers. Democracy only works with active citizen participation.

What We Do

Like our name suggests, our goal is to create action! This includes planning events like large rallies, rapid response protests, engaging with local city and county government, and creating connections among our neighbors.

What We Value In Our Volunteers

We’re looking for anyone who is left-leaning and wants to get involved. While Direct Action is primarily focused on planning events, we value a diverse range of skills and personal backgrounds. We need volunteers savvy with social media, artists, writers, IT and AV specialists, event planners, public speakers, and community partners. The resistance is growing, and we need your help!
