In the midst of so much pain and turmoil in the world today, I look forward to gathering with you in fellowship and shared caring.  We have a special opportunity at our East Washington County Dems meeting on zoom on November 2. Thom Hartmann will be joining us to share his unique and informed view of the world, politics, and history.  Many of you know of Thom and have followed him over the years. For those who haven’t learned of him, I attach a brief description:
Thom Hartmann is the four-time Project Censored Award-winning, New York Times best-selling author of 25 books currently in print in over a dozen languages on five continents in the fields of psychiatry, ecology, politics, and economics, and the #1 progressive talk show host in the United States.
He has helped set up hospitals, famine relief programs, schools, and refugee centers in India, Uganda, Australia, Colombia, Russia, and the United States. Formerly rostered with the State of Vermont as a psychotherapist, founder of The Michigan Healing Arts Center, and licensed as an NLP Trainer by Richard Bandler, he was the originator of the revolutionary “Hunter/Farmer Hypothesis” to understand Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
In the field of environmentalism, Thom has co-written and starred in 4 documentaries with Leonardo DiCaprio, and is also featured in his documentary theatrical release The 11th Hour. His book The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight, about the end of the age of oil, is an international bestseller and used as a textbook in many schools.
In addition to this, Thom has a daily newsletter and podcast.  He began his radio career on Air America Radio and is a Portland resident.
 
Whether you are interested in the why of our current toxic politics or the strength that people find in ADHD, Thom is a great speaker.  I urge you to jump onto our meeting – to learn, to ask questions, and to share time with each other.   If you have any special topics that you wish Thom to address, please respond to this email and I will pass the request on to him.
