CD-6 Organization Meeting on March 19th!
The organizational meeting for the Sixth Congressional District has been called for Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at 1pm on zoom. Unique Zoom Credentials will be issued for the zoom call a couple of days before the meeting to all members.
The following positions will be elected:
- The CD Delegates and alternates acting as delegates will elect a:
- Chair
- Vice Chair
- Treasurer
- Secretary
Each Congressional District Committee, along with the SCC delegates and alternates acting as delegates living in that district, elects committee delegates and alternates to the standing committees in the following numbers:
- Budget Committee: Two delegates, one alternate
- Credentials Committee: Two delegates, one alternate
- Platform and Resolutions Committee: Five delegates, two alternates
- Rules Committee: Three delegates, two alternates
- Local Events and State Fair Committee: Five delegates, two alternates
If you are interested in running for these positions, please file online using this filing form by no later than noon on March 10th, 2023. Anyone who files will be included in a virtual voters pamphlet that will be circulated to members on March 13th. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor, but members are encouraged to file in advance to allow balloting, etc, to be built.
Any registered Democrat who lives in CD 6 is eligible to run for these positions. Only CD 6 delegates can vote for the officer positions. CD 6 delegates, as well as SCC delegates who reside in CD 6, can vote for DPO committee positions. If you have a friend interested in running who isn’t a member, please encourage them to file in advance so we can get them set up with access to the meeting.
