7:00 PM meeting
The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned decades of precedent, ignored the science of an impending climate crisis, and threatened the rights of a majority of our nation’s citizens. While people at the national level are trying to find ways to counter the toxic impact of this court, individuals and organizations in Oregon are not waiting to see what happens. We are making sure that we use all of our power to continue to create a state that is safe, affirming of all of our rights, and leading in climate action.
At our August 4th EWCDems meeting we will hear from organizations that are crafting programs and legislation that will continue the fight for gun safety, protect woman’s right to choose, and lead in impactful climate action – Megan Busbee from Moms Demand Action, Evelyn Estrada from pro-choice Oregon, and Debby Garman from Oregon 350 will be speaking and answering questions about some of our initiatives. Oregon has always been a leader – now we need to lead in showing what can be done. Please join us in learning how each of us can make a difference in this undertaking.
As always, all are welcome to join us on Zoom for learning, caring conversation, and community. You can reach out to EWCDems@gmail.com with any questions or comments. We will meet at 6:30 on zoom for those who wish a social time with the program beginning at 7 pm on August 4, 2022. The zoom link is below.
