The East WashCo Dems Meeting is ONLINE
August 5th, 2021
How can good government serve all Oregonians?
A chat with Jamie McLeod-Skinner and Rural Organizing Project
6:30 social time 7:00 PM meeting
Thursday, August 5 we will have a chance to talk with Jamie McLeod-Skinner about how we can help make Oregon work for all of its citizens. Jamie has been a powerful candidate running against Greg Walden for a seat in the US Congress and then for Secretary of State. Most recently she has served as interim city manager for the fire ravaged city of Talent.
The Washington County organizer for the Rural Organizing Project, Monica Pearson, will also join us to talk about the grassroots efforts of organizations throughout the state to advance democracy for all Oregonians.
With her travels throughout the state, particularly in Eastern and Southern Oregon, Jamie has had a chance to talk to a wide swath of our citizens. As we face some of the hardest times we have seen for our state, we need to assure that our government is working well. Faced with historical drought, the devastation of the pandemic, wildfires, ice storms, record breaking heat, and the new awareness of the inequity that pervades our society, we need each other more than ever. As we heard last month, our legislature accomplished a phenomenal amount this last session. Now we need to see where we go next.
Please join us with questions, ideas, and a willingness to participate in dialogue about how all of us can help.
As always, East Washington County Dems is open to anyone who wants to learn, share, and find ways to help the world move forward for all. We will go online at 6:30 for anyone who wishes a social time before the program. Drop in when you can.
Please reach out to Carol Greenough, if you have any questions:
