WEEKLY EVENT: Blue Wave Gatherings

Picture of an ocean wave and the text Getting Together While Staying 6' Apart Every Saturday Until Election DayJoin the Washington County Democrats in promoting our values and candidates this and every Saturday until Election Day at Blue Wave Gatherings!

The Dems will be carrying signs and showing support at 25th and Cornell starting at 12PM this Saturday. We will be spacing people out at least 6 feet apart to maintain social distancing and keep everyone safe. Cornell is a very long road so we should be able to accommodate everyone that shows up. But if you’re feeling sick or would feel uncomfortable, please stay home. We need you all to be safe.

We will be focusing on a different theme each week (see below for details), but feel free to support your favorite progressive cause, liberal group, or favorite local or national Democratic candidate. Promote WashCo Dems endorsed candidates or measures. Suggested method of promotion is creating and bringing your own signs. Write in big letters and be sure to wear blue clothing if you’re able.

Show that you recognize the continuing threat of climate change.  Demonstrate that you believe in social justice and equal and fair access to the law. Let people know that healthcare is a human right.  Show Oregon what matters most to you. The causes of the Democratic Party are as diverse as the members themselves and are all welcome at Blue Wave Gatherings. We look forward to seeing you all out there.

Please come wearing your mask.

And no, you do not need to be a Washington County Democrat to come participate!

MAIL IN BALLOTS EARLY

October 17th, 2020

This is continuation of the prior week. More Oregonians will have received their ballots and getting them mailed back or dropped off will be our main priority.

Cancelled: OCTOBER 27TH

October 24th, 2020

TAKE YOUR BALLOT TO A DROP OFF LOCATION

October 31st, 2020

This is the last Saturday prior to the election. Many voters will still wait until the last few moments of an election to cast their ballots. Our main focus will be to direct them to drop sites and encourage them to still get their ballots in early if at all possible. This will be the most important and consequential election of our lifetime and we don’t want our fellow conscientious Oregonians to regret not participating.

ELECTION DAY 2020

November 3rd, 2020

This is it. The day we’ve been waiting for since that fateful election in 2016. We may have some idea what the next few years will look like, but it’s also possible that the results will still be unclear. In any case, we can still encourage people to vote in this election, thank those that have voted, and encourage people to continue their participation regardless of the results.
