WashCo Dems Call to Action: Election Monitoring Volunteers Wanted (9/19)

introducing the call to action

Summary:

We are beginning to organize election monitoring for the Nov. 3 election.

More information:

Like many things right now, the pandemic is impacting how this program will run this time. All volunteers for this program will be required to wear masks, and practice safe behavior, including keeping a safe distance from others and staying home if you don’t feel well. You can also recruit your friends and family who are registered Democrats, 16 years old and older, who may be interested.

If you can volunteer, please add the online training to your calendar: Sept. 19, 12 p.m.

Monitors typically start monitoring the Thursday or Friday before the election, and into the early morning hours of the day after. We may need to go longer than that this time. Even if you can just monitor for one hour, we can use your help. We typically ask monitors to also “adopt” a ballot drop site to keep an eye on. If you are not able to monitor at the Elections Office, but would be able to check in on drop sites, please let me know. I will ensure all volunteers get all the information they need.

Thank you for your time! As I’m sure you know, this election is a HUGE one. Election monitoring is a crucial piece to the Democratic process so thank you for helping with this critical program.
