Unfortunately SpringFest 2020 has been canceled due to increasing concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today the CDC released updated guidance as follows:
“Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.”

In accordance with these guidelines the officers of the Washington County Democrats have canceled the 2020 SpringFest. We will look for the opportunity for a virtual Forum if possible.

Democrats of Washington SpringFest Fundraiser Featuring The Secretary of State Candidates’ Forum

Press Release: March 3rd, 2020

The Washington County Democrats are pleased to announce that the Democratic candidates for Secretary of State will attend a forum at the annual SpringFest event. SpringFest is an annual luncheon that helps fund operations of the local Democratic County Party. All members of the community are welcome to purchase a ticket.

The Secretary of State is a key constitutional officer responsible for overseeing elections, auditing state government functions, managing the state archives, and registering businesses. The Secretary of State is the only statewide elected office currently held by a Republican, so Democratic Party members are very interested in nominating a qualified candidate who will win back the office for our values of transparency and efficient government as we enter a census year.

The three candidates for Secretary of State will speak at a forum moderated by award-winning journalist David Sarasohn. State Senator Mark Hass, Jamie McLeod-Skinner, and Cameron Smith will share their visions for how their leadership will benefit all Oregonians. Should more Democratic candidates officially enter the race, we will be inviting them to join our forum as well.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://washcodems.org/springfest2020 or at the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Washington County, at 140 NE 3rd Ave., Hillsboro. Volunteers are available to answer questions at 503-626-7018.

More details on our event can be found here.

We hope to see you there!

Chair, Democratic Party of Washington County
