MARCH MEETING CANCELED: 2020 WashCo Dems Veterans Muster
Veteran’s Uniting for 2020
The Washington County Democrats of Oregon have recently forged a new team of dedicated Americans willing to stand up for their community and their country. This Veteran’s Group met for the first time on the 16th of January in Hillsboro to discuss strategy and tactics for the 2020 election year. We are rolling up our sleeves (Army fashion) and getting ready for the work ahead. Unfortunately, only the Army and Navy were represented at the initial meeting, so you Marines and air jockeys out there need to step it up!
Face it, for too long, the Republicans have been spreading the false narrative that America’s veterans are all red-hat wearing Trumpsters.
Of course nothing could be further from the truth. The military community is a multi-ethnic body of men and women who share a common pride in this country. And it’s long past time we demonstrated to our community that veterans speak with a diverse and strong voice. The WashCo Dems Veterans Group aims to do just that.
And how will this group of WashCo Dems do it?
We will be working on ways to relieve veterans experiencing home insecurity, increase the resources available to veterans in our county, and raise visibility of other veteran issues.
Our next meeting will be held at the time and place shown below.
All Democratic or Democratic-leaning veterans are welcome to attend the meeting regardless of branch of service (we’re talking to you too, Coast Guard). If you’re a veteran hoping to use your hard-won powers for good this election year, we’d love to see you.
