WashCo Dems Biennial Convention: Get involved!

Mission is to develop Legislative Action goals and a Platform (principles and values) for the next 2 year period.
The event also serves to prepare persons who wish to attend the statewide DPO Platform Convention in 2020.

Come One – Come All!!

The Biennial Washington County Democratic Central Committee will hold its biennial Platform Convention in October. The purpose of this Convention is to update our 2018 WashCoDems Platform to address changing situations, and to develop Legislative (including local) Action Issues (LAI’s) for the next two years.


October 6 (Sunday) and October 13 (Sunday), 2019


8:45AM – 5:30PM (both days, *end time is approximate)

Refreshments: Coffee, pastries, some snacks – donations of food & money encouraged since our budget is limited to $300
*as this is an all-day session, please consider your dietary needs for the day.

Registration: Registration prior to September 13 is strongly encouraged, however, participants may register up to (and on) the date of the Convention.
Registration is simple. Send an e-mail to platform@washcodems.org or chair@washcodems.org. with the subject: Platform Convention.

*Early registrants will be able to receive additional notices (e.g. detailed Agenda & Rules) and materials as they become available.

Attendance: The Convention is open to all registered Democrats who reside in Washington County !!! PARTICIPANTS WILL BE CREDENTIALED based on registration records. Guests are very welcome and may participate in discussions but will not be able to vote.

Format: The event will include both open forum sessions with breakout groups to share ideas and concerns on specific topics, and formal voting sessions (using Roberts Rules of Order) to approve final work products. A detailed agenda will be available in September (after Sept 13).
