Washington County Democrats Welcomes New Executive Team

January 7, 2019

Hillsboro, OR – The Democratic Party of Washington County, Oregon held its biennial reorganization in November, electing a new slate of officers as well as heads of committees and caucuses.

Succeeding Louise Currin as Chair is long-time Oregonian Patrick Maguire. An Oregonian since age four,
Patrick grew up in Astoria and attended Eastern Oregon University. After graduation he made
Washington County home. Inspired to activism after the 2016 elections, he began attending party
meetings and was elected to the post of Secretary in 2017.

In addition to hoping that Oregon can lead the nation in implementing progressive priorities, Patrick
understands the crucial but often overlooked work of electing progressive school boards, city
councils, and county commissions.

As chair of the party, Patrick will oversee day-to-day operations and management of the party, and will
coordinate and preside at monthly Executive Board and Central Committee meetings.

Other new officers include Vice Chairs Martita Meier and Jeremy Likens, Treasurer Veronica Williams,
and Secretary Victoria Long. For additional leadership appointments please see:
